Jan. 3, 2009 - Edible

I am from New Orleans. I grew up eating gumbo every holiday--along with tradtional foods, too. When my sister and her family visited over Christams, last year, she insited that I make it. It was such a hit that I made it for New Year. I'll probabaly make it every year. It made my boys (including hubby :) so happy.

Jan. 2, 2009 - Trio

My son's birthday is after Christmas. We had a birthday party at a gymnastic studio. This swing was a favorite of all the kids.

Jan. 1, 2009 - Trio

I have something else that I want to post for triplets, but I took that photo in December. Since I want to start out right, I took these photos this morning. I'll post the "cheater" photo tomorrow :)

My kids participate in a speech contest every year. I've posted photos and youtube video before, but why should a proud Momma stop there. One of the kids a have won the top spot since my oldest won in first grade.

I am getting excited about the new challenge. Hopefully, I will do a little more work on the blog before January 1st.

In the meantime...

I came across this this short article about servicemen in Iraq "running" the twelve days of Christmas. I've been jogging a bit, lately, and I was in the service so I enjoyed the article. I imagine that the solders serving overseas can get pretty depressed during the Christmas season. This looks like a healthy, wholesome deversion.
